Ro Buxbaum of Ro's Oriental Rugs considers her business different from other oriental rug dealers, because she is a matchmaker!

Ro's Oriental Rugs has been a thriving business since 1975. Oriental rugs from her shop have graced the floors of many homes in Nashville, Cashiers, Charleston, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Tampa and Naples, Georgia and Texas.

Her oriental rugs and tapestries have enhanced many Designer Showcase houses, Parade of Homes, and the Founders' Lounge at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. Ro's Oriental Rugs also donated an 18th century tapestry fragment from the Apollo series that features "Polyhymnal: the Muse of Sacred Music" to the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. It is located on the second landing of the West Wing. In addition, her shop was voted the "Best Oriental Rug Shop" in Nashville by House and Home magazine.

Ro Buxbaum's passion for oriental rugs derives from her philosophy that oriental rugs are woven works of art for the floor just as tapestries are woven art for the walls. "If you look through any magazine that features home furnishings, and then remove the oriental rug, just look at what happens to the ambiance in that room." An oriental rug, whether traditional or contemporary, whether worn or in good condition adds so much to the overall effect of a room and enhances the furnishings."

In addition to the great selection of oriental rugs, antique and semi-antique, Ro's Oriental Rugs has two new features:

Shabby Chic: worn but not worn out old oriental rugs which can be used in quiet rooms, cabins, or a second abode, kitchens, etc. These sell at lower prices than their counterparts in better condition.

Contemporary Styles: New and newish Oriental Rugs and new Tibetans in many colors, designs and sizes to choose from.

Last, but not least, Ro's Oriental Rugs always has an exhibit of interesting oriental rugs and tapestries which the public is invited to come see without any charge or obligation. There are special exhibits and lectures that will be announced through the website, or by e-mail to those who would like to be informed of these special events.
